POSITION : EXECUTIVE

Job Summary:

Understanding Westports Malaysia's business goals, objectives, and strategies will enable the business analyst to build and implement new business processes that are in line with the company's strategic aims.

The business analyst creates several business and system models by analyzing business processes, data, and systems and using a variety of communication techniques (such as interviews, meetings, and facilitated sessions), that the company uses to develop a future state business model and a deeper understanding of itself.

Key Responsibility :

1. Analysis and Planning

  • Evaluates prospective operational alterations, designs fresh concepts and methodologies, and conducts studies based on operational, economic, and/or financial data to measure the competitive performance of business segments.
  • Identifies business processes to review. Performs moderately complex research by gathering data from a variety of sources, which may include operational data, metrics, competitor information, and feedback from business partners.
  • Constructs the business case for changing the current practises, programmes, or processes when required.
  • Assesses the current status, opportunities, costs and benefits, feasibility, etc.
  • Prepare a test plan covering all possible test scenarios.
  • Ensuring the application/products meet user acceptance.
  • Organize with other team members to plan out the test activity.

2. Execution and Revisions

  • To improve business outcomes, collaborate with stakeholders on the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of business process modifications.
  • Plan and execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression).
  • Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies.
  • Provide support and prepare project documentation.
  • Revise and establish application SOP under the IT department.
  • Assess and evaluate ETP system security and work with security executives to comply with IT security policy monthly.

3. Tracking & Reporting

  • To track development progress against schedule and monitor closely for scope creep of a project and change request.
  • Develops, modifies, and distributes standard and ad hoc reports/dashboards to better understand the overall business and/or unit.
  • Train and follow up closely on the use of BI tools by Westports Users (Power BI, Power Automate, and Data Lake) and implement them on applications.
  • Improve ETP Customer Experience and system interface, data, and reporting function.
  • Train ETP users on new features and obtain user feedback for improvements.
  • Conduct Customer Experience Surveys and feedback quarterly.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio
  • 2 or more years of experience in analytics and systems development
  • Proven ability to manage projects and user testing
  • High proficiency in SQL and database management
  • Experience in generating process documentation and reports
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Extensive experience with data visualization
  • Proven analytical abilities

POSITION : MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY :

This managerial position requires a high experience and knowledge on claims and insurance matters and interface with various stakeholders across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Property insured & Property Claims.

  • Completes insurance applications, obtains quotes from brokers, analyzes need for coverage, communicates with insurance broker, coordinates premium payment, and ensures no lapses in coverage.
  • Work closely with insurance brokers, adjusters and authority (LPK) to manage claims related matters collaboratively to build trust and ensure disputes are resolves in the best manner possible.
  • Oversees insurance claims for personal, property, equipment or other type of loss based on coverage and verifiable damages. 
  • To manage Company properties insurance & property claims.
  • Ensure timely collection of reimbursement sum once each case file is closed.
  • To manage renewal of insurance policies.

3rd Party Claims Recovery.

  • Reviews 3rd party claims and submits to insurance broker, communicates with stakeholders as required.
  • Oversees insurance claims for personal, property, equipment or other type of loss based on coverage and verifiable damages. 
  • Work with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to retrieve costs of repairs of damaged properties and ensure sum is collected in timely manner.
  • Recovery from third party on damage to Westports property upon notification from Port Police and Operation

To manage Port Operator liability claims.

  • Operates one or more claims processing units i.e. RM<75K, >RM75K; including timely and proper disposition of claims in accordance with claims exposure.
  • Act as claims authority within areas of expertise and provide direction on such issues as file handling, policy interpretation, legal and technical issues, or concerning large losses..
  • Act as liaison between insurance adjusters/brokers and internal stakeholders such as operations dept, M&R and conventional dept.
  • Matters related to claim litigation liaise closely with Legal.

Claims Committee meeting and take action to reduce the number of incidents.

  • Ensures complete and sound claim settlements, legal reviews; and investigations in accordance with company claims procedures and guidelines & insurance policies.
  • Coordinate with Process Owners to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of incident/risk
  • Chairman of ARC -  Reviewing accident cases and coming out with necessary counter measure to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Set strategy and procedures for the handling of claims within company wide.

To manage claims from vessel damage.

  • Reporting done within 24 hours from incident.
  • Coordinate with the internal Process Owners on the claims.
  • Appoint repairing contactor for vessel damage and coordinate with operations team in order to ensure that repair works onboard vessel are completed in safe and efficient manner.

Employee Engagement.

  • Supervises, trains, develops, and motivates staff. Meets regularly with staff, to maintain open communications, ensure adequate workload, and update standard procedures.
  • Responsible for managing the insurance & claims department comprising of claims executive and administration staff.
  • Oversee the design of workflows and guidelines; manage on-boarding of new staffs & implementation of best practice in claims and insurance respect.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in legal or actuarial science
  • Proficiency in mitigating loss and rejecting claim. 
  • Well versed in vessel operations and planning functions.
  • Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (ATS, PWB, CBAS) to prepare reports.
  • Sound knowledge in claim related matters.

POSITION : EXECUTIVE

Key Responsibilities :

  • To adhere to SOPs and ensure safe practice of navigation at all times as per SOPs.
  • To ensure all vessels boarded fifteen minutes before the vessel booking time.
  • To monitor marine contractor performance and to report performance to Duty Pilot on every shift i.e. Tug boats, Pilot boats, and Mooring Gangs.
  • To assist Container and Conventional operation in tidal berthing request
  • To ensure berthing side is as per booking requirement and report on any changes To Duty Pilot immediately.
  • To attend to outstanding issues discuss during the operational meetings and to ensure that issues are resolved within the stipulated time.
  • To ensure Duty Pilot / VOM are informed of any expected delay of berthing/ unberthing of vessels.

Requirements :

  • Possess a valid Certificate of Competency of Master Foreign Going Ship (or Class1) or Possess a valid Certificate of Competency of Chief Mate of Foreign Going Ship more than 300 Gt (or Class2) or Certificate of Competency of Foreign Going (Class 3).
  • Possess at least a minimum of 12 months of experience on board Foreign Going vessels as WKO ( Watch Keeping Officers).
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety standards.
  • Compliance with statutory requirements i.e. pilotage by-laws governed by Malaysian Port Authority.
  • Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.

  • Review and improve benchmarking of Westports IT Security readiness, assess the current IT environment against global standards and revert with action plans for implementation.
  • Keep Westports management updated on all matters of IT securities.
  • Perform penetration test and remediate risks and vulnerabilities identified with adherence to Westports SOP.
  • Investigate all security incidents, ensure root cause analysis is carried out and completed and avoid recurring incidences in future.

4. Management

  • Minimum 10 years experience in IT Infrastructure, Security and Operation, with at least 5 years at the Senior Managerial level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Work experience relating to IT Operations, Security, Storage, Database, Network and Server Technology.
  • Proficient in ITIL/ITSM and practices in a large organisation.

Job Summary :

Requirements :

Job Summary :

The Senior Performance Management Executive is responsible for overseeing the performance management process within an organization, ensuring that goals and expectations are available and aligned, performance standards are met, and employees are developed and rewarded based on their performance. Work closely with HODs / Line Managers to define performance metrics, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support to help employees achieve their goals. 

Key Responsibility :

Performance Planning: Responsible for executing the standards of employee’s goal setting in the organisation. Communicate and engage with the HODs / line managers to complete their goal setting as stipulated in the latest performance management framework. Compile all approved goal-setting templates from all employees in the early of the year or as per the gazetted timeline. 

Performance Monitoring: Regularly track and monitor the performance of employees based on their approved goal setting. Analyse performance data, identify gaps and provide insights and recommendations to the employees to improve their performance. 

Performance Reviews: Execute the performance review exercise for all employees to assess their progress, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement. Develop action plans and provide support and resources to help employees achieve their performance goals. Prepare an appraisal form and compile performance scores from all employees to complete the year-end appraisal exercise. 

Performance Improvement Plans (PIP): Identify underperforming employees and execute performance improvement plans in collaboration with respective line managers. Monitor progress, provide guidance, and ensure implementation of actions outlined in the improvement plans. 

Employee Recognition and Rewards: Propose and execute the design of a performance-based recognition and rewards system for the employees. Ensure that high performers are appropriately acknowledged and rewarded for their contributions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for managing and reviewing energy efficiency project development which includes, establishing basic/ detailed engineering design, specification, capital and operations expenditures, execution schedule, tendering contracting in industrial setting.
  • Understand project requirements, collecting energy data to understand energy profile and consumption.
  • Supervise and review feasibility studies energy simulations basic/ detailed and front-end engineering designs of utility systems
  • Liaise with internal engineering team, consultants suppliers to understand, establish, review, validate and issue the project specifications (M&E equipment system, infrastructure structural & civil work) , capital expenditures operation expenditures and the performance guarantees, liaise with customer including presentation and validation
  • Liaise with Malaysian Authorities, utilities and Government Agencies for project incentives application/ coordination, regular and special inspections, infrastructure and project authorization, licensing issues and for general project implementation coordination required.

Key Responsibility :

1. Audits and Compliance

  • Conduct physical inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Review standard operating procedures (SOP) and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant energy regulations and acts, including key interactions with authorities and agencies.
  • Prepare scorecards to track the company's progress in energy management.

2. Energy-Saving Strategies

  • Implement energy benchmarking, consumption reduction measures, cost-saving initiatives, and greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and verify energy flows.
  • Set goals for energy-saving projects and report progress to management and investors.

3. Utility Budget

  • Develop an annual budget for energy consumption.
  • Estimate projected energy savings and calculate current energy and utilities costs.

4. Project Management

  • Propose and lead initiatives aimed at reducing the carbon footprint.
  • Regularly review and set targets for carbon footprint reduction.
  • Take the lead on sustainability projects.
  • Conduct research and prepare whitepapers on energy and fuel usage in the port.

5. Technology

  • Engage in research and development related to the implementation of green technologies, such as solar and wind power, in port operations and logistics.
  • Explore innovative approaches to energy consumption and management.

6. Employee Engagement

  • Organize workshops, training sessions, and communication efforts to educate employees and vendors about energy management and sustainability.

Requirements :

  • Professional engineer status with 3 to 5 years of experience in energy project management, or possess a degree in Science, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Hold a certificate of competency as an Electrical Services Engineer or as a Competent Electrical Engineer in accordance with the Electricity Regulations 1994.
  • Be a Registered Electrical Engineer Manager (REEM) [ST].
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of energy utility systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Have strong quantitative and technical skills related to facilities and equipment.
