Ltd., can carry up to 3,000 cars and is powered by dual-fuel LNG and diesel engines that significantly reduce emissions.To commemorate the occasion, Datuk Eddie Lee, Group Managing Director of Westports Holdings Berhad, presented a plaque to Mr. Yoshiyuki Kawai, Director of Toyofuji Shipping Co. Ltd., while Mr. Uthaya Kumar, Head of Westports Conventional Department, presented a plaque to the vessel’s master Capt. Westports Malaysia is one of the leading ports in the world that is supported by excellent staff’s productivity, state-of-the-art terminal equipment, and deep water draft of up to 17.5 meters and endowed with mangrove islands that act as a breakwater for the terminal. We are one of the preferred transshipment hub port for shipping lines in the region. Our container volume has grown exponentially over the past 30 years, and Westports is the leading terminal operator in Port Klang. We handled 10.09 million twenty-foot equivalent units (β€œTEUs”) of containers and 11.6 million metric tonnes of bulk cargo in 2023. Westports Malaysia is capable of handling almost 14 million TEUs per annum with 5.8 kilometers of straight container quay and 67 ship-to-shore cranes. Our proposed long-term expansion from CT10 to CT17 would boost our total terminal handling capacity to 28 million TEUs per annum in the future. Westports is a truly Malaysian Port with the Company’s workforce of more than 5,000 Malaysians. About one-third of our workforce is from Pulau Indah, the island where Westports Malaysia is situated.
