ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER

Responsibilities :

  1. The principal objective will be to implement and enforce an effective environmental management system during construction works and operations of built assets.
  2. Develop, review and enforce environmental compliance for construction activities and operational facilities.
  3. Ensure that environmental and sustainability issues are effectively implemented during all development phases – construction – operation – decommissioning.
  4. Ensure that DOE environmental requirements included in contract are thoroughly adhered.
  5. Ensure that project monitoring and reporting regimes are applied across the project duration.
  6. Manage environmental inspections and audit programs of all construction activities and facilities.
  7. Report on compliance performance of construction and operational activities.
  8. Ensure mitigation / correction measures related to any environmental non-compliance detected during the environmental audits are implemented.
  9. Management of contractor personnel to ensure that contractor are effectively executing their agreed scope of works and deliverables are being achieved.
  10. Oversee the review of construction environmental and social impacts management plans.
  11. Provide supports to planning and sustainability team regarding field-work, site assessments, etc.
  12. Support, apply and utilize standardized environment compliance systems and methodologies, tools, templates, procedure, and dashboards for all construction projects and operational facilities.
  13. Act as intermediary liaison between affected communities, company and government agencies, rezoning, site plans, special use permits, and related Authorities submissions.
  14. Liaise and coordinate with affected internal stakeholders during execution of related environmental site activities

Work Experience Requirements :

• Minimum of eight (8) year-experience in environmental management across an array of major infrastructures sector, ideally with some experience of regulatory environmental enforcement.
• Experience of mega-project compliance program management is required.
• Experience of ISO14001 implementation is required.
• Lead auditor qualifications and experience are desirable.
• Experience in the development of reporting tools is desirable.

Qualification Requirements :

• Min. BSc Degree in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Management (or related discipline)
• Possess Certified Inspector on Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) Certificate approved by DOE
• Strong technical environmental skills across terrestrial, marine and coastal environments
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Experience in managing infrastructure construction projects is desirable
